The influence of self-conscious emotions. Dissertation, FernUniversität in Hagen.
KurzfassungThe dissertation aims to contribute to the field of conflict transformation by studying possible emotional barriers in the interaction between rival groups. For this purpose the influence of emotions in conflict-laden interactions was assessed with a specific focus on self-conscious emotions such as shame, guilt, humiliation and pride. As a case study, the interaction between Jewish Israeli, Palestinian-Israeli and Palestinian youth was analyzed since the Israel-Palestine conflict is considered a strongly emotional, intractable conflict and a virulent field for conflict transformation work and study.
